Camera Critters - 'Lady, I Feel Safe By You! '

Camera Critters

Which is what this poor little duck seemed to be saying..

An idiotic couple, with a pit bull in tow, were thinking it rather funny to set their dog to chasing this little girl.

She was clearly terrified. However, when she spied me sitting on the riverbank, she paddled over, quacking loudly. She then settled down in front of me and started preening her ruffled feathers.

I guess she saw me as a haven of safety.

I was glad to sit and keep her company until the two twits moved off...

People who allow their dogs or kids to terrorise the wildlife and think it funny, really get my ire up.

  1. What idiots! Great that you were there to give it some comfort.

    I played too :)

  2. Poor duck. I'm with you. There is a special place in hell (I hope) for people like that.

  3. Idiotic twits is a far too respectful term. ;)
It's nice she felt comfortable with you. The river looks like a nice playground for her.

My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.

  7. It's instinct. We visit duck everyday and my dog behaves as long as they are in water. When they're on shore my "No" doesn't stop her.

  8. I'm glad the duck realized you represented safety. She looks relaxed in your company.

  9. My two idiot dogs want to chase the waterfowl on our lake unfortunately. "NO!" doesn't seem to phase them.

I'm glad this little beauty sought refuge in front of you.

  15. "People who allow their dogs or kids to terrorise the wildlife and think it funny, really get my ire up." I couldn't say that any better than that!!

It frustrates me to see kids spooking birds for entertainment while the parents sit by happy to not have to keep them occupied!! If you didn't want to "parent" your child... then you souldn't have had kids!

You got me all heated ;)

Good on you for hanging around and allowing this cute one to relax in your company... animals know animals lovers!

  23. Glade that you have been able to keep the little duck safe. Even an animal can sense who is really kind.

  24. Uncaring and obviously stupid people like that saddens me, but since there are always "two kinds" of people there is hope and you make a difference. Have a nice week in the nature around you!

  25. We need to teach people how to treat nature. I wrote a poem about it.

  27. They get mine up, too. Next time they irk me, I am going to chase them back. Nothing like a crazy middle-aged lady who doesn't know how to dress chasing you around....I am glad you were there.

  28. Me too! I am so glad you were there to provide a safe haven :)

  29. I'm so GLAD you were there! Some people are very strange about what they think is funny.

  30. We just watched a Go Diego Go (with my little girls) that addressed this very nature. How lovely you two could share a safe moment. I'm sure it will stay with you forever:)
