Watery Wednesday - Nanny McGoose ...

These were taken last Saturday at Virginia Lake, Reno, NV.

The Mum and Dad of this large brood, obviously need a little help in the shape of Nanny McGoose. She's the rotund lady bringing up the back of the parade.

I had to giggle watching her swim . She had quite a waddle on her. :-)

" Mum, Dad can we pleeeeeease go for a swim !! Look, one of you can even hold my wing if you're worried I might swim off. "

Mum and Dad stood on the bank, preening themselves and watching the other geese swim by, totally ignoring their tween offspring, who was jumping up and down, impatiently waiting to hit the water...

I have a love affair with water ... without it, I couldn't spend hours, entertained by the antics of those that live on it :-)

  13. How adorable! I love seeing the little goose families. There's no mistaking mom and dad. Wouldn't it be great if humans all behaved as responsibly as the geese.

  27. Geese families are so interesting. We have 3 sets of adults and their combined goslings who go everywhere together on the lake here. I like your shot of 'Nanny McGoose'--very cute!
