Sunsets..

The smoke plume from a wildfire on the outskirts of Reno..taken in the early evening.

Two days later ..all the smoke particles in the air certainly made for some brilliant sunsets..

I hate to see those fires. I love that area and would be devastated to see such beauty destroyed. Your photos turned out really well.

It's a shame about the fires, but they certainly do make for gorgeous sky shots! Great captures!

The sad irony connected with particulate matter in the sky (whether put there by nature or by us) is that even as it makes it harder to breathe the air, it makes for utterly lovely sunsets. Thirty five years ago I took a photo of the carillon tower at UC Riverside during just such a sunset (Riverside was about the most polluted place in the US at the time). It still evokes wonder in me. These shots are fantastic, Karen; thanks for posting them.

Your skies are gorgeous. I so love that color in the last one. Incredible.

Your skies remind me that all our endeavors are, well, small. So we need to relax and enjoy! Life is beautiful.

Karen,I did not realize you were back to posting. I was checking on occasion, but almost missed your return. Good to see you posting again. So much to catch up on. Sorry about little Seamus. I know nothing about dogs, so would not have known that about tracking the virus in on my feet. Love your sunset pictures. It is sad what the composition is, but beautiful never the less.
