Skywatch Friday - Is It A Bird ... Is It A Plane ??

No, it's a pesky helicopter, that spent most of last Sunday, flying above us, taking photos of the facelift they've given the Peppermill Casino.

I wouldn't have minded so much, if they hadn't started the flights at 5.30 in the morning !!

These were all taken with my little point and shoot.

Took others with my 35mm SLR, but haven't got the roll of film developed yet..

Early morning..

Flying against the sunset...

Hmmmmm ...maybe it's heading off to the airport...

Nope ...here it comes again..

Ahhhhhhh ... blessed peace !!!

Have a great weekend all !!!

I just bought a Tokina 70-210 lens for my film SLR, so I'm hoping to get out, this weekend, and play with it. :-)

What are the rest of you doing ??

Go to SKYWATCH for views of the sky from all over the world !

5:30 in the morning?! OMG. How horrible for you. But you did capture some lovely skies.

Nice job Karen! Instead of just another one of those beautiful sky pictures you have a special theme as well. That was a great idea!

Nice shots. The sky is beautiful. Too bad it wasn't a peaceful view for you. Isn't it just a pain when they continue to fly around like that? So inconsiderate!!

Have nice weekend!

Great collection of photos with beautiful colour across your sky, funny about that chopper buzzing about the place.

I only have a little point&shoot digital but we like to take it out to play because you never know when a great sky is going to show up.

At least the helicopter wasn't looking for an escapee!
For this weekend... I'm hoping to do only gardening and go to church...

5:30am? Dear GOD in Heaven! That's too early for me!

Beautiful sky shots!

I'm going to try & get out this weekend too & take some pics of someplace other than my parent's farm, cuz, I think everyone's probably getting sick of the same ol scenery on my page! hehehe

5:30! I'd be annoyed, too - but at least you were able to see some lovely skies and share them with us.

Beautiful pics, the sky can change so quickly and be even more stunning than just a few minutes before.

And I only had one helicopter!!

Great shots!!

I understand the feeling. The big military choppers fly over our downtown buildings in the summer time. However, i will savor my sight to your beautiful skies. Happy a great weekend!

Hello there Karen
I called by to say a big thank you for stopping by my Sky Watch post and for taking the time to comment..
I like this set of pictures... a very different takeon Sky Watching. We get woken at all hours by the local police helicoptor flying over.. not a nice sound at 4-5 in the morning.

Hope you have a great weekend with your new lens...

WOW! This is a spectacular sky! The pilot must have had an excellent view from up above. Great photos!

Well, the facelift given The Peppermill Casino certainly was not easy to picture, if that helicopter spent all day trying to do it :D Better luck next time (I do hope there will not be next time, not so early anyway).
Your pictorial story was so much fun! And you have such stunning sunsets there, or -- maybe it's you: you are so good at taking pictures!

Sounds like the helicopter was annoying, but the pictures are great!

That helicopter made lots of twists and turns and made the photos very interesting. Nice captures.

Kewl photos ;--)
I can relate to the noise of such events. I hate being awakened in the middle of the night by the local police helicopters.
Hugs and blessings,

A helo can be pretty noisy, but at least it kept you outside taking pics of the gorgeous sky.
