Dear fellow bloggers,
I am so, freakin' tired. Honestly. I need another cup of coffee and a couple of matchsticks for my eyelids, type of tired.
This is the first time, in a couple of months, that I've done a full week at the school I volunteer at.
I'm now in awe of teachers. I don't know how they do it. If I was wearing a hat, and if I wasn't so damn tired (yeah, I know I'm over using that word), I'd raise it to them. Give your kid's teacher a hug ... honestly, he or she really, really deserves it! And if I wasn't so TIRED, I'd write a loooong post about why I think they deserve it, like dealing with 'No Child Left behind' , spending 1000's of dollars of their OWN money on students, dealing with parents who think their little brats are total angels and so on .... but I'm just too bloomin' TIRED !!
Okay ... now I'm off to deal with 33 1st graders, 102 paper butterflies, 34 large paper flowers and 68 small paper flowers, that I somehow volunteered to turn into table decorations for the retiring staff's luncheon. The butterflies and the flowers, that is ... though the temptation is there to turn some of those 1st graders into something as well....
And one of the damn dogs is standing there yipping at me, can't he see I'm TIRED!!
Incoherently, yours.....

Volunteers are so important; thanks for giving of your valuable time. You are making a difference! :)
Thanks for the cute comment on yesterday's video post. I have an accent?! I'll have to go back and listen :)
Again, I could never do it. You've got my respect.
I hear you. Between working mommy exhaustion and stupid allergies, I'm wondering how I'm bumbling through my day. God bless caffeine!
Yep I know what you are talking about! I worked in a primary school with special needs children for 5 years before we got Brylee and Griffin, and I ENJOYED getting home every day to just my 6 kids!!!! I am NEVER EVER working in a primary school again.... or a college!!! I taught college kids Pottery for a couple of years too... NEVER AGAIN!!!! I hope you are not so tired now?
I work all day on Fridays in my son's first grade class... it is nuts, and there are only 20 of them! 33...YIKES!
I organized the parents and instead of lots of little gifts, we got her tickets to see WICKED in Hollywood and a nights stay at a nice hotel. She really appreciated it and was so gracious... I would have given her a week in Hawaii if I had the money!
I. Cannot. Imagine. I just cannot and I DO tell my children's teachers just how much they're appreciated. Four kids wear me out completely. I can't imagine 33.
Oh boy, I taught for a year and I couldn't have said it better myself. Exhausting.
Great job... better you than me! Go get some sleep!
Preach it sister! Every time I leave our school after volunteering, I'm wondering how they do it. I always say it takes a very special person to be a teacher!
And thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)
I hope you got some rest! The energy, patience, and creativity it takes to be a teacher is the exact reason I no longer teach. I love working with kids, but it gets so draining doing it day after day. I didn't want to become that teacher is so burned out she is no longer beneficial to her students and parents. Kudos to you for hanging in there all week!
I share your awe of teachers. I'm so glad they have the patience and love to do what they do, and I have no idea why they don't go insane doing it.
Did you see in the news the thing about a chaperone on a trip with cheerleaders was just recently sued for almost $700k because one of the cheerleaders drank herself stupid and fell to her death out a balcony window. I'm tellin' ya. Next thing you'll hear is a kindergarten helper getting sued because someone's tot choked on Elmer's Glue. Becareful!
(and I'm nominating you for sainthood.)
I've already nominated her for sainthood. Bless you, seriously
more people should volunteer their time
Thankyou, one and all for your kind words. I am now awake, though it did take a couple of days. :-) I actually got to sleep in till 7am this morning, which is the time that I'm usually leaving home. I feel like a new woman!! :-)
And thanks also to my canine *babies* who let Mummy sleep in this morning. Usually, at about 5am, they decide it is their duty to get me up by bouncing all over me....
