These were taken last Saturday at Virginia Lake, Reno, NV.
The Mum and Dad of this large brood, obviously need a little help in the shape of Nanny McGoose. She's the rotund lady bringing up the back of the parade.
I had to giggle watching her swim . She had quite a waddle on her. :-)
" Mum, Dad can we pleeeeeease go for a swim !! Look, one of you can even hold my wing if you're worried I might swim off. "
Mum and Dad stood on the bank, preening themselves and watching the other geese swim by, totally ignoring their tween offspring, who was jumping up and down, impatiently waiting to hit the water...
I have a love affair with water ... without it, I couldn't spend hours, entertained by the antics of those that live on it :-)

Love Nanny McGoose! I, too, am a beginning photographer getting used to my camera. So many settings so little time! LOL!

Gorgeous pictures of the Goose family and a great interpretation of their banter.
How cute! No geese at my Virgina Lake 100 miles south.

How adorable! I love seeing the little goose families. There's no mistaking mom and dad. Wouldn't it be great if humans all behaved as responsibly as the geese.
I take it the "nanny" is fitting in just fine!
What a cute litle family. Looks like the nanny is in full control
So cute, your tale made it come to life!
Thanks for visiting MY World...Maymont Park in Richmond...
I do like your water photos...and the ducks. Good blog too!
That's a cute line up for a grand parade of beauties. Mum and Dad are just so protective of their cuties.
Nice pictures - what would we do without the birds.
Good luck using film - you will learn more about photography that way.
I just love this post. Always like to follow baby duckings on their swim and it does appear in your first photo that a nannie/ au pair is involved!
Great shot!
Delightful post. Magpies too employ aunts to help raise their newer chicks.
Love the duckies. Great captures for WW.
oh, your geezelings are so big. Where I live they are only just hatched. Tiny ones still.
Gosh, that's a big gaggle - thanks to the help of Nanny McGoose perhaps :)
What a cute and funny post! I loved it. I'm sure if they could talk that's just what they'd say ;) Great pics of them too.
Great pictures! I loved your little commentary too :)
Geese families are so interesting. We have 3 sets of adults and their combined goslings who go everywhere together on the lake here. I like your shot of 'Nanny McGoose'--very cute!
