My World - My City

Images taken on a walk along the Truckee River on a cloudy Saturday..

The top of the Reno Arch, that spans Virginia St..

Looking down the Truckee River towards downtown. this one was taken with my film SLR, the other two, with my 6.2mp digital point and shoot.

Looking across the Truckee River, from Rock park, towards the Atlantis Casino with Slide Mountain in the background. While, as I mentioned, I took this one with my little digital, I also took the same shot with my film SLR, so I'm going to be interested in how they turn out.

I don't think I've seen Reno this lush and green for a long time. All thanks to what is turning out to be the third wettest June on record. I think we are only a tiny fraction of an inch of it being the second wettest..

Now, go to MY WORLD TUESDAY where people from all over our globe , show off their little corner of the world !

I go to Reno once or twice a year and yes never seen it this green too. I haven't explored the Truckee river area either. I think it's time to go. Hows the temp?

Having never been to Reno, I will take your word for the current green-ness of it. And here we've been pretty dry up in the Seattle area.

Terrific shots! Does seem unusual to see such lovely green there, but then I haven't been to the area in quite some time, so I may have just forgotten. Great post!

What a beautiful walk - thanks for taking me along!
I love the last pic.
The cloud looks like it's going to swallow the mountain!

All the pictures turned out great, but I were to pick one, I'd definitely choose the third picture. I love the composition!

The only thing I know about Reno- you can get a quick divorce there. It looks quite lush in places and that top shot just love the bold lettering.

Wow! Great pictures! I've never been to Reno but it definitely looks like a great place to visit. I love playing tourist in my city, too. We'll be doing that this weekend, when my brother and his wife come to visit!

All that greenery is definitely not something I'd expect to see in Reno. Nice shots.

Hi Karen,
Love your Reno photos - it is unusually green there. We passed through in May on our way to Sacramento.

Does the Truckee river always flow I know from here when we don't have rain our rivers turn to trickles. Great snaps.
