Mellow Yellow Monday - An Abundance Of Yellow..
ALERT !!!! Many of you may be having problems opening Blogs when using Internet Explorer. Apparently the Followers widget is the cause. Go to this post by Speedcat Hollydale and get an explanation on how to fix it. As a result, my Followers widget, is now in the footer of my blog page. Even though you may not be using IE yourself, some of your visitors may be, which means less visits to your blog, if they can't open it!
These were taken on a school field trip, last week, to Animal Ark.
The desert, bordering the road leading up to the animal sanctuary, was covered with these yellow flowers. Not sure what they are. Maybe a variety of sunflower?
(CLICK ON ANY PHOTO TO ENLARGE.)
Whatever they are, they are very cheerful. :-)
This closer look, has a little visitor on one of the flowers..
Looking down from the picnic area, towards the parking lot.
How many yellow objects can you see ? :-)
Have a great Mellow Yellow Monday and a Happy Memorial Day to those that celebrate it.
Memorial Day, here in the US, is the day that they remember all of those in the Armed Services, that have given their lives in defence of our freedoms.
I think it is also a good day to remember those soldiers from the Allies, that side by side with the US, also gave their lives, defending those same freedoms ...

i dun know the name of the flower either.. thanks for the gratitution!
I have never heard of Animal Ark but it looks like a great place. Great pictures of the flowers and the one with the busses and the other yellows.
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog.
Cheerful! Looks like a great place to visit. Thanks for visiting my blog....Doozers are from Fraggle Rock (80's kid's show)
The flowers on these look so similar to the Mexican Sunflowers I posted for Mellow Yellow today - but the leaves are totally different. They must be in the same family since mine are definitely drought resistant and yours live in the desert!
Thanks for stopping by :-)
They are wild sunflowers. They have their own unique characteristic. If you plant them in your yard, they take all the nutrients from your soil to disadvantage other plants. So I was told.
They're pretty yellow flowers - I was thinking maybe some kind of daisy?
Nice MYM photos!
Beautiful flowers especially enlarged...
Beautiful flowers, my little girl would of sat there and picked them. TFS
Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day!
TFS
I see at least three yellow buses. :-D I'd forgotten tomorrow was Memorial Day. I forgot to do my post.
Lovely flowers. I am afraid I don't know their name! Thanks for the visit. Have a great day.
lovely flowers and on the 3rd pic, i saw yellow flowers too and buses i think...well, whatever it is..happy mellow yellow monday.
It's been a few years since I last rode one of those yellow buses, and even longer since I played on one of those playgrounds. Beautiful flowers, however, are there all the time.
Nice shots and post!
Neat photos. Looks like the middle of nowhere.
I did a tribute today for Memorial Day. Stop by my blog if you can.
I love MYM. Everyone pics are always so cheerful. Love those flowers. =)
Your photos remind me of our years raising kids in Vegas -- we seized any opportunity to go outside town to find something interesting to see. Even after four years out there, I never could remember one casino from another but I knew all the parks that had water features! Thanks for the memory these brought back!
Great yellow shots. Those flowers are beautiful. The shot with all the buses & playground is cool too.
Happy MYM & Memorial Day!
Great shots! Amazing how much yellow you can find when looking for it :-)
THX 4 the link too. I am amazed that blogger has not fixed this yet.
Many tell me that they do not use IE anyway, but forget that many commenters are disappearing because "THEY" DO use Internet Explorer!!
Hi Karen,
This might be a Mexican Sunflower - very pretty. You managed to cram lots of yellow into this Monday! Raining here in Breckenridge, so my yellows are few and far between.
I love the line of yellow buses and the cool playground. Where exactly is Animal Ark?
Thank you for stopping by my place last week, I never got around to replying to your comment on Keisha. She and I became quite close during the shoot. Despite her young age, she is a very mature woman. Soon after the film wrapped I found out she was expecting. She wore a fake tummy for 8 weeks pretending to be pregnant, I guess she took a liking to it! Her mom Desrae, was also pregnant at the time and due around that time, so Keisha's baby Amore and Desrae's are about 10 months apart!
Unfortunately I lost track of the Castle-Hughes family and alas haven't heard from them since.
I'll be back here visiting soon, ciao!
Hmmm ... I don't use IE because I prefer Mozilla, but I know some folks have had trouble lately with blogs and it's good to know the cause. Thanks for sharing. I love all the yellows ... even the school buses ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
I loved your "yellow" pictures for "Mellow Yellow Monday" they are great, but may I comment on your last sentence of this post where you say "I think it is also a good day to remember those soldiers from the Allies, that side by side with the US, also gave their lives, defending those same freedoms ... " I just want to Thank You for that. It is such joy to me on a personal basis when I see this kind of respect in blogs!
Again Thanks and
PEACE!!!
Beautiful blooms - looks like from the daisy family.
your entries seems to be smiling at me..
These look like Balsam Root. The leaves are very similar to a variety we have here. And the flowers of course. Great shots!
