Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta - A Wandering I Go ..

It's Friday and it's a Fiesta !! At least it is, thanks to Candid Carrie ! :-)

The last two days have been beautiful, here in Reno. The sky has been a glorious shade of blue and the temperatures have just been right for wandering and taking photographs....

I spied the Stars and Stripes fluttering proudly in the breeze..

A neighbour has this butterfly, ladybird and daisy, nestled amongst her hydrangeas ..

The trees are glorious in their new Autumn coats. Such a wonderful contrast of colours out there right now ...

'Some say love it is a river that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower and you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance

It's the one who won't be taken who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose. '
(The Rose - Bette Midler)

Sadly, these lovely roses may be about to meet the bitter snows as ...

The weatherman is predicting that we may have snow down on the valley floor by tomorrow.

As can be seen by this last photo, taken around 4.45 this afternoon, the storm clouds are already appearing over the mountains and a distinct chill is in the air..

Your photos are beautiful. I love fall colors. We are starting to see a little bit of it around here. But we're not in ANY danger of snow. Yikes.

Wow, these photos are gorgeous! I hail from the mid-west (Indiana) where the seasons are distinct enough that we have amazing fall foliage. Here in Georgia, not so much. More pine trees than hardwoods and the hardwoods don't have the brilliant colors in the fall. It just doesn't get cool enough here. It's been better the last two falls than in the past but still nothing compared to what I grew up around.

I love Nevada although I have only been there a few times.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I look forward to reading more of yours. See you over at Kat's blog and have a great weekend!

Beautiful photos!! I love finding those little butterfly things or other decorations in flowerpots. I can't believe you are already about to get snow. Amazing. We're still in the 80's during the day. HOT.

Okay, call me STUPID, but I was under the assumption that Nevada didn't experience the changing seasons as beautifully as we do, here in Wisconsin. Guess I was wrong. Check out my pics when I post tonight (Sarcastic Mom's Weekly Winners...)

Snow??? Already??? I can't believe you'll be getting so already. I, too, thought NV never saw snow.... guess I was wrong!
